Beach Vacation: Complete Packing List

Most of my favorite vacations have been somewhere sunny! The beautiful beaches and warm nights are unmatched! 

This packing list entails everything I like to pack for a trip somewhere beachy and/or tropical. Please note it is specific for a beachy vacation, so be sure to check out my complete packing list for traveling in general, which will include regular essential items that are not included in this guide. 

Clothes

If you’re going somewhere tropical or near the beach, then it will probably be hot! I like to pack light and airy clothes, along with some other options in case it gets breezy or cold in the evenings. I will also include hiking gear as most tropical destinations will have lots of hiking opportunities!

• Lots of shorts
• Flowy dresses
• Tank tops and loose-fit tees
• Hiking attire (workout shorts/leggings, dri-fit tops)
• A formal outfit for an evening out
• Bathing suits & cover ups
• Light jacket in case there is rain or chilly wind
• Shoes – sandals, closed toe hiking shoes (link the ones you like), walking shoes/sandals, water shoes (link)

Toiletries

• Sunblock that is reef-safe – check out my post on my favorite sunblocks. (link)
• Aloe vera gel in case you get a sunburn
• A good lotion + face lotion 
• Makeup – My favorite makeup for a tropical environment are tinted moisturizers/SPF, chapsticks or lip tints with SPF, light foundations, a good setting powder, and a bright + fun blush.

Electronics

• Waterproof cases for your camera, phone, GoPro
• Portable charger (link my fav)

Miscellaneous

• Bag for hiking to carry snacks, drinking water, water shoes, sunblock, portable charger, etc.
• Reusable water bottle – I like to buy gallons of water to keep in the fridge and fill up my favorite water bottle (link) before I leave the hotel.
• Fast drying towels – These are my favorite, fast drying, and can fold up small to pack.
• Beach bag 
• Packable cooler/insulated backpack
